I sat for the boards in December, knowing that if I failed, I had to wait until the following June to try again. Results came out 6 weeks later, and much to my relief, my name was on the list of newly licensed massage therapists. What makes this so amazing and what makes me all the more confident of my Carlson education, is this: over 900 people sat for this test, and only 47% of them passed. From anatomy & physiology, to hands-on techniques, to alternative modalities, CCMT provides an education that will stand up to the standards of even the Ohio Medical Board. Beyond a great education, the faculty at Carlson go the extra mile to make sure that the students are truly understanding and applying the material. They cared more about producing skilled, successful therapists than numbers or statistics. Even now that I have graduated and moved three states away, I can still call up my instructors and ask for business advice. And perhaps most importantly, I already have clients who cannot believe that I am a new graduate because that is "the best massage they have ever received." Carlson College provided me with everything I need to be a successful massage therapist. What more can you ask for? Rochelle Sikora, Fall Part Time Class of 2005 - Maumee, Ohio |
I graduated from CCMT in the fall of 2006. While most of my classmates were registering for National Boards, I was packing my bags and moving to Ohio to be with my new husband. In Ohio, massage therapy is governed by the State Medical Board - national certification means nothing. I had to take the state medical boards for a limited branch profession to be considered licensed in Ohio. I was confident of the education that I received at Carlson, but had no idea how it would stand up to Ohio standards. |
